Another update from her infant teacher @ 9 months old

Receptive/Expressive Language Skills
Janice’s pays increasing attention to speech and verbal requests like “wait, don’t cry, am coming to you.”  She is also trying to imitate words and sounds and noticed she is talking to self in mirror.
Thinking/Cognitive Skills
Janice is exploring objects in many different ways (shaking, banging, throwing and dropping).
Gross and Fine Motor Skills

Janice pulls herself up to stand with furniture support and walks while holding the cot. She can stand momentarily without support. At her stage, she may be able to walk soon so both of you gonna have a big headache!

Language Development

Janice likes to babble, regular repeated sounds (eg. Mama, dadada).  She will play around with these sounds. (This is important for sound producing mechanism necessary for later speech). Janice is beginning to understand emotions of caregiver’s voice. She likes music and rhymes, especially with actions.
